Here are a few reasons to avoid a foreclosure with a Short Sale: 1) a foreclosure will be on a person's credit history for 10 or more years, 2) a foreclosure will lower credit scores 250-300 points, 3) a homeowner will not be eligible for a Fannie Mae backed mortgage for 5 years, 4) a foreclosure could threaten your current or future employment, 5) a foreclosure may challenge most security clearances.

In a Short Sale situation it is required that a home be listed with a real estate agent. The lender will pay commissions and seller closing costs. We have specific training for Short Sales.  We advise that you hire a professional that is certified.
